Basking in A Perfectly Imperfect Life

>> 24 March 2015

Last February 3, 2015, I was admitted to Leyte Provincial Hospital after a month of irregular bleeding. After two years or so, I finally decided to follow my Ob-gyne's advice to go through Dilation & Curretage.

For a week, I thought everything is well already, until the lab results were out and I got diagnosed with the life-threatening illness. I have Endometrial Cancer (Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma)

Darn! Yes, on that moment I thought the world is conspiring against me... I never felt so helpless and down,

For two weeks my husband and I decided to keep it from both our parents. We wallowed and cried in bed...  night after night. During those times, I wished for a quick and easy death.

What changed my attitude?

Well, the news of somebody I barely knew dying in a motor vehicle accident.

The shocked it caused to her family and friends; the suddenness of her death- brought me back to my senses. I remembered my parents - those two gray-haired, gentlest of souls individual who gave me the best of everything they can possibly provide. And my husband- the one man who stood by me and held my hand through this raging storm...

Then I remembered, someone once told me, "When you're tired of standing up, you can always kneel."

And from that day on, kneeling made me regain strength. The Lord works in mysterious ways. I may still have not-so-good days, but now I know how to look forward to a better tomorrow.

These days, I use most of my times being around the people who loves me the most. I learned to appreciate mornings and the hope they promise. I learned to stop and take in everything I feel, I see, I hear...

Life is short but it is beautiful.

My Greatest Provider, teaches me a lesson on life everyday. And I had never been a more patient and obedient student.
From friends, to classmates to people I haven't meet in person yet- Jesus taught me the value of Charity and True Fellowship..He sent to my way people who He made Instruments for the gradual healing of my Soul and body. I had never felt so blessed!

I am on a new journey... and just as how I start my day, I pray that my Lord, Jesus Christ, continue to use me for Thy Glory.

May He Bless you today and everyday, as He continuously Bless me with His Graces and Mercy.
